Basel can finish Partizani tie in style

Basel claimed a convincing 3-0 win over Albania’s Partizani Tirana in the first leg of their Europa Conference League qualifier and the Swiss outfit should be able to finish the job with another win.

The victory over Partizani was Basel’s first outing of the new season and they backed that up with a 2-0 success over Grasshoppers in the Swiss Super League at the weekend.

Partizani were solid at home last season in their domestic league with just two defeats in 18 games, but they only managed eight wins themselves and after their struggles in the first leg we can’t see them causing Basel too many problems despite their home advantage.

Partizani may attempt to force the issue early on as they have a three-goal deficit to recover but FCB should be able to weather that early storm.

We’re backing an away win in this match-up, while a 2-0 win for Basel has some appeal given the fact they’ve managed to keep clean sheets in both of their games so far this season.
