Perth Glory looked like they would finally break into a spell of good form a few weeks ago. They won two matches on the bounce and then held Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory to draws.

However, it seems that this wasn’t built to last, and they come into this match having lost back to back Hyundai A-League matches.

This puts the struggling side down in 9^th position in the A-League, just three points above bottom placed Central Coast Mariners and a point behind Newcastle Jets in 8^th.

Melbourne City find themselves in a good looking 3^rd position. They are three points behind Western Sydney Wanderers in 2^nd and four off leaders Brisbane Roar.

They managed to slash the gap between them and Western Sydney Wanderers with an impressive 3-2 win over them last weekend, a win that ensured they didn’t go three games without a win in the A-League.

Generally, the visitors are in very good form. They have won five of their last seven league matches and only lost once.

Despite Perth Glory’s pretty terrible start to the season, their home form is actually pretty decent. They have only lost two of their seven home league games, and 11 of their 12 total points have come on home turf.

Melbourne City have only won three of their eight total away games this season as well, with two draws and three defeats making up the rest of the results. Crucially, one of these defeats was against Perth Glory in the FFA Cup, which will surely provide a psychological advantage to the hosts.

This makes odds of 4/6 for a Perth Glory Win or Draw Double Chance look good value to me, and I’m also going for a 1-1 draw at 6/1.
