Peru vs Chile Betting Tips

It has been a fabulous 2015 for Chile so far and they made a great start to World Cup qualifying with a 2-0 win over Brazil in Santiago last week. Goals from Eduardo Vargas and Alexis Sanchez sent the home crowd home happy again and 3 points here would put them in a strong position at the top of the standings ahead of tough games with Colombia and Uruguay in November.

Peru lost their opener 2-0 in Colombia and are once again faced with the task of converting an encouraging Copa America showing, where they finished 3rd, into a genuine challenge in World Cup qualifying. This is likely to be anything but a cruise for Chile though. Peru aren’t a great side away from home and only picked up 1 point on the road in qualifying for the 2014 World Cup but were pretty strong at home where they secured 14 points from 8 games.

Back in Lima again here they should provide neighbours Chile with a really tough test. They haven’t failed to score at home in over 3 years since a 1-0 defeat to Colombia, the only time they failed to find the net at home in qualifying for the Brazil World Cup.

This game includes the two top scorers in Copa Ameica in the form of Peru’s Paolo Guerrero and Chile’s Eduardo Vargas. Chile are a naturally attacking side while Peru will also be gunning for 3 points given their troubles away from home so backing both teams to score at Evens looks a good bet here.

Peru have only suffered 4 defeats in their last 21 home World Cup qualifiers and beat Chile when they last visited Lima in 2013. They also pushed them close at Copa America, only losing 2-1 despite having Carlos Zambrano sent off in the 20th minute.

They should have enough about them to secure a result here but perhaps not a win given the confidence with which Chile are carrying right now. Therefore consider backing this one to finish 1-1 at 5/1.
