Portsmouth vs AFC Wimbledon Predictions
- Portsmouth have kept clean sheets in four of their last five matches
- Portsmouth have suffered just two home league defeats in eight outings at Fratton Park this season
- Wimbledon have failed to score in five of their last six games
Pompey Picking Up
Portsmouth have shrugged off a run of one win in thirteen to by winning four of their last five matches, keeping a clean sheet in each victory.
Their defensive frugality has coincided with Marcus Harness finding form by netting six times in his last ten appearances, while Danny Cowley’s side have scored in all bar one of their league fixtures at Fratton Park this campaign.
The recent run has catapulted them to within five points of the play-offs, and given their recent success at both ends of the field, they should have enough to see off a struggling Dons side.
Wimbledon’s Goal Problems
Wimbledon have only scored once in their last five games, and even that was against National League North outfit Guiseley in the first round of the FA Cup.
The Dons may be a little fresher than Portsmouth having had last weekend off due to the international break, defensive numbers are depleted due to injuries to Will Nightingale and Paul Kalambayi.
Having kept just two clean sheets in their last sixteen matches in all competitions, I suspect those absences, plus current form, will make things very difficult at Fratton Park, which is why I am predicting a 2-0 Portsmouth win.
