Preston vs Blackburn Predictions
Blackburn went into the international break unbeaten in 3 matches and on a decent run overall of just 2 defeats in 10. However the Rovers board still decided to part company with manager Gary Bowyer, who was swiftly replaced by former Norwich and Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert.
They are level on points with opponents Preston in the bottom half of the table but the Deepdale side have been on a good run themselves. They are unbeaten in 6 matches coming into this game and incredibly the newly promoted side have kept 6 consecutive clean sheets and haven’t conceded in the league since the 3rd of October at Sheffield Wednesday.
They haven’t been scoring many though and 4 of those 6 matches have ended goalless. Rovers haven’t exactly been involved in many goal-fests either and both teams have scored in only 1 of their last 7 matches.
Given all that there is plenty of reason to back ‘No’ in the Both Teams to Score market here, something you can do at generous odds of 4/5.
It’s hard to feel confident about either side having enough to win this one given how well both defences have been playing of late. Rovers are the more unknown quantity given they have a new manager at the helm but Lambert is unlikely to try anything radical immediately and will look to continue Blackburn’s recent solidarity in defence.
Given 4 of Preston’s last 6 have finished 0-0 and 2 of Blackburn’s last 5 we could well see another goalless game here and at 7/1 you can get good value on things ending that way.
