PSV to stay atop the Christmas tree

Even with a host of missing players, PSV climbed to the top of the table recently, but the only way they can guarantee that they will stay there over Christmas and beyond is with victory.

Encouragingly, PSV have already played two promoted sides in the Eredivisie this season and beat them both by a 2-1 scoreline, suggesting this may be a similarly slender margin of victory against the Deventer outfit.

Eagles could have their wings clipped

A return of just one win from Go Ahead Eagles’ last five league games means they will finish 2021 in the mid-table abyss no matter what happens here, which is just about what they would be aiming for in their first season back at the top.

However, the visitors have been imperious away from home and are unbeaten in five straight league trips, though they now come to a ground where they have never succeeded.
