PSV vs LASK Linz Predictions
PSV suffered a 3-0 defeat away at Utrecht on Saturday, while LASK thrashed Mattersburg 7-2 in the Austrian Bundesliga and we’re expecting an open, exciting, and action-packed ninety minutes between the pair on Thursday.
All of the stats suggest that both teams will score and over 2.5 goals will be produced when PSV and LASK meet this weekend and we’ve backed the hosts to claim a 3-2 victory.
The pair have never played one another before but their performances heading into Thursday’s clash only adds weight to our prediction of goals in this game. Over 2.5 goals have been produced in each of PSV’s last five and each of LASK’s last six matches, while both teams scored in four of PSV’s and five of LASK’s last six games.
The form of both teams suggests we will be in for a close and competitive ninety minutes this week, as PSV and LASK have each won four of their last five matches. The hosts have only kept one clean sheet in their last six attempts, as have their guests, which is another reason why we’re confident that there will be goals in this game for both clubs.
PSV have won their opening two group games in the Europa League this season, against Rosenborg and Sporting, and have looked strong in Europe, while LASK lost their first away game in the Europa League this season 2-1 to Sporting and there are questions about the Austrian clubs ability to pick up enough points on the road to qualify for the knockout stage.
We’re confident that both teams will score and over 2.5 goals will be produced in Thursday’s match and we’ve predicted a final scoreline of 3-2 in favour of PSV. The hosts have been strong at home in all competitions and it will take something special for PSV not to win this game. LASK have looked decent at home but that 2-1 defeat in Portugal against a Sporting side that haven’t played well this season doesn’t provide much in the way of confidence in the visitor’s ability to claim positive results on the road. Both teams have been scoring plenty of goals of late and haven’t kept a lot of clean sheets so we’re expecting a goal-filled game between the pair this Thursday.
