Qatar and El Salvador will both view this Sunday’s clash in Arizona as a fine opportunity to reach the last four of the CONCACAF Gold Cup and we’re anticipating an extremely tight affair at State Farm Stadium.

Just 11 places separate the sides in the FIFA Rankings (Qatar 58^th, El Salvador 69^th) and there shouldn’t be a great deal between them on the pitch this weekend based on their group stage results and abundance of recent clean sheets.

Invitees Qatar had a rather sloppy opener against Panama which ended 3-3, but Felix Sanchez’ charges safely secured their passage to the quarters thanks to facile victories over Grenada (0-4) and Honduras (0-2).

El Salvador’s last six outings have all produced under 2.5 goals and that’s our recommended bet for this Sunday’s game, as the sides’ relative ability and defensive qualities are hard to ignore. A goalless stalemate also looks possible taking into account the teams’ high volume of recent shut-outs.
