Predictions & Tips

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
Both Teams To Score @ 4/6

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
QPR 2-1 @ 8/1

Reason For QPR vs Birmingham Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in 5 of the last 7 meetings between these two clubs.
  • Both teams have scored in 4 of Birmingham’s last 6 matches.
  • QPR have won 8 times at home this season, while Birmingham have lost 7 times on the road.
  • Both teams have scored in 72% of QPR’s home games.

Neither of these clubs has kept many clean sheets this season

QPR claimed their second home win on the run as they beat Derby 2-1 on Tuesday night while Birmingham drew 0-0 with Millwall on Wednesday evening, which means that Saturday’s hosts now sit a point above their guests. Birmingham head into the match as the form favourites with three wins and three draws from their last six outings but QPR are unbeaten in their last four games, picking up two wins and two draws.

With five of the last seven encounters between QPR and Birmingham seeing both teams score and QPR’s last two home games and four of Birmingham’s last six matches also seeing both teams score, you can see why we have backed goals to be scored at both ends of the pitch this weekend. 72% of QPR’s home games this season have seen both teams score and the same can be said for 50% of Birmingham’s away trips.

QPR have only failed to score in 17% of their home matches and Birmingham have failed to find the back of the net in 33% of their away games, which suggests that there is a good chance we will see both teams score on Saturday. Exactly 3-goals have been scored in 11% of QPR’s home games and 22% of Birmingham’s trips on the road, and we have backed a 2-1 home win this weekend.

Both teams are in the midst of unbeaten runs but QPR have the home advantage

The hosts have already won eight times at home in the Championship while Birmingham have lost seven times on the road, with QPR averaging 1.56 points per home game and Birmingham averaging 1.28 points per away game. QPR score an average of 1.94 goals per home game and concede 1.72 goals while Birmingham only score an average of 1.29 goals per away game and concede 1.49 goals, which adds further weight to our prediction for a 2-1 home win this weekend.

Neither QPR nor Birmingham have kept many clean sheets so far this season, with the hosts keeping their opponents out in 11% of their home games and the visitors managing to keep clean sheets in 22% of their away games, just another reason why we have backed both teams to score on Saturday.

We’re confident that both teams will score in Saturday’s match and we have predicted a final scoreline of 2-1 in QPR’s favour. Birmingham are enjoying an unbeaten run right now but their hosts haven’t lost any of their last four matches and have been at their strongest in their own backyard. Birmingham don’t score a lot of goals on the road and this is where we feel QPR can step in to claim all 3pts.
