      QPR vs Brighton Predictions

Brighton continue to defy the odds and their unbeaten run now stands at 20 matches in the league this season thanks to the point they earned in an entertaining match at fellow promotion hopefuls Derby on Saturday.

The Rams were actually odds on to win the match but it was Brighton who looked to be heading for 3 points when Rajiv Van la Parra netted with only 15 minutes to go to put the visitors 2-1 up. Derby rescued something from the game via a late Chris Martin leveller but despite that Brighton you sense still emerged with their promotion hopes enhanced and with a clear message sent out to one of their main rivals that they are the real deal.

QPR have promotion hopes of their own but given they trail their opponents by 15 points it’s more likely to be the play-offs that will be their target now. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink took charge of his first game on Saturday when QPR drew 0-0 at home to Burnley.

The results mean there have been 1 or fewer goals in all of the last 7 matches involving QPR and Hasselbaink will need to get his attacking players firing again if they are to be genuine promotion contenders. QPR are the slight favourites here which is surprising given Brighton’s incredible record this season.

Given they do draw a lot, it’s a safer bet to back Brighton in the Asian Handicap market (+0.0) at 2.025 here, something which is yet to yield a losing bet in 20 outings for the Seagulls this season.

It might just take Hasselbaink a bit of time to work his magic on this QPR squad, which has been poor for 18 months now and with Brighton going so well, they look good value for a 2-1 win at 10/1.
