QPR vs Reading Betting Tips & Predictions

There’s not a great deal at stake here other than the jostling for mid-table places in the final reckoning. Both teams have reason to try and restore some pride though. QPR were hammered 4-0 at Brighton on Tuesday in their heaviest defeat since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink took charge. Their home form has been quite good of late though. They’ve won 4 of their last 5 matches at Loftus Road with leaders Middlesbrough the only side to win there in recent weeks so will be confident of bouncing back with maximum points in this one.

Reading meanwhile are on a really bad run that they could do with ending before the end of the season to avoid some serious soul-searching over the summer. They’ve lost all of their last 4 matches conceding 9 goals in the process. On the road if you discount wins at already relegated Bolton and Charlton, they’ve lost their last 6 away games and haven’t won any of their last 15. That’s fairly alarming form and suggests the Royals are a bit soft outside of Berkshire.

Loftus Road is not an easy place to go to try and turn that form around and QPR look like they have just a bit more all-round quality. Despite that defeat on Tuesday, Hasselbaink is likely to be relatively pleased with what he’s seen from his team in recent months and may feel with a bit of smart business this summer they should be pushing for the top six at least next term. With Reading in such bad form, the value looks to be with the hosts here and you can back QPR to win at a generous 11/10.
