Rangers to breeze past Cove
Rangers have remarkably won all 16 of their domestic home matches this season, scoring 47 goals in the process and conceding just twice.
The Gers last domestic defeat on home soil came over a year ago when they were beaten 1-0 by Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership.
Steven Gerrard’s side have also been amongst the goals this season, scoring four or more on 12 separate occasions across all competitions, most recently against Antwerp in the Europa League.
Cove Rangers have been in good form in Scottish League One this season, as they sit second in the standings despite only gaining promotion from the fourth-tier last term.
Paul Hartley’s side are also unbeaten in six games and have performed well since the Scottish lower leagues returned from their enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Cove also claimed an impressive victory at Championship outfit Alloa Athletic to set up this third-round tie, but they have never beaten a team from the top-tier of Scottish football.
Barring one of the biggest shocks in the competition’s history, that record is not going to change on Sunday, and we are predicting a comfortable afternoon for Rangers.
Indeed, we predict Rangers will win the match and over 3.5 goals will be scored – most likely all of them by the newly crowned Scottish Premiership champions.
