Rangers and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Hearts have won both meetings with Rangers this season but the Ibrox can turn the tables in this mouth-watering top-of-the table clash. The Jambos won 2-1 when these two last met at Tynecastle just before Christmas but the Gers have improved steadily since then and could narrow the gap to the Edinburgh side who start the weekend seven points clear at the top. The Light Blues have lost just once in 13 outings since that December defeat and they can edge a lively encounter in Glasgow.

Rangers 2-1

Reason for tip

Rangers have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last ten matches on home soil, and although they struggle to extend that sequence against the league leaders, they can limit Hearts to just one goal. We predict a 2-1 home win for the Gers who have scored 13 goals across their last two home fixtures, although that record is slightly skewed by an 8-0 home win in the cup against minnows Queen’s Park last week. Hearts will pose much more of a threat but the Light Blues are fancied to edge a vital victory.

Rangers vs Hearts Predictions

  • Rangers have lost just one of their last 13 matches in all competitions
  • Hearts have won both meetings with the Gers this term
  • The Jambos have failed to score in three of their last four visits to Ibrox

Gers to narrow gap on leaders

Hearts start this round of Scottish Premiership fixtures with a seven-point lead at the top of the table but Rangers are in hot pursuit and the Ibrox side are predicted to reel in the leaders with a narrow victory on Sunday.

The Jambos have led the way in Scotland for most of the season and look to have steadied themselves following a slight wobble over October and November.

However, a 1-0 loss at St Mirren on their last road trip suggests they remain more vulnerable than they were earlier in the campaign and ever-improving Rangers are fancied to take advantage.

The Gers have made steady progress since Danny Rohl was appointed as manager in October and they are building up a head of steam as we approach the closing months of the season.

Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Hearts just before Christmas but have lost just one of their 13 matches since, a 3-1 defeat to Porto in the Europa League, which is by no means a disgrace.

Both meetings this season have gone Hearts’ way, but Rangers are fancied to turn the tables with a 2-1 win on Sunday.

Rangers have kept a clean sheet in eight of their last ten matches on home soil, and although extending that sequence against the leaders may be tricky, they can limit Hearts to just one score.
