Rangers vs Motherwell Predictions
- Motherwell have kept just one clean sheet in their last 15 Scottish Premiership matches
- All but two of Rangers’ last 17 league games have featured at least three goals
- Well won four of their final six away matches at the end of last season
Rangers can get back in the groove
Rangers will be disappointed that they already have two points to make up on Celtic after the opening weekend of the Scottish Premiership campaign, but Philippe Clement’s team should soon be in the groove and are likely to have too much for Motherwell on Saturday.
Renovations at Ibrox mean the game is being played at Hampden Park, but the Gers should still be comfortable at the national stadium despite opening their league season with a goalless draw at Hearts.
That result was against their recent trends as most of their matches towards the end of the season tended to be goal-filled and they will feel their campaign has lifted off after a late Cyril Dessers goal gave them a 1-1 Champions League draw against Dinamo Kyiv in midweek.
Focus should still be on this league game, but the visitors re capable of finding the net.
Well can make their presence felt
Motherwell will recall that they left Ibrox with a 2-1 win in February and they will also want to be positive after their own opening goalless draw against Ross County.
They will be encouraged by the fact they won four of their final six away league games last season and there have also been encouraging signs in their League Cup matches, which means they may be a little further ahead in the preparations than Clement’s side.
Class should tell in the end, so a 3-1 Rangers win may be of interest to those looking for a correct-score selection.
