Rangers 2-1

Reason for tip

Rangers have won three of their five home games this season and Celtic are the only side to beat them at Ibrox since November 2022. They have won 2-1 at home twice this season and Real Betis have lost their last two away games by an aggregate scoreline of 9-2.

Rangers vs Real Betis Predictions

  • Over 2.5 goals has landed in all three of Real Betis’ away games this season.
  • Three or more goals have been scored in four of Rangers’ five home assignments.
  • Celtic are the only side to have beaten Rangers at Ibrox since November 2022.

Rangers primed for winning start

A dismal second-leg showing in Eindhoven saw Rangers miss out on the Champions League group stages but they should be able to get their Europa League campaign off to a good start against Group C favourites Real Betis.

While Rangers fell to a humbling 5-1 loss away to PSV, they held out for a 2-2 draw at Ibrox and this home form could carry them through against Betis, who have suffered two very heavy defeats on the road recently.

Back goals at Ibrox

The Spaniards lost 4-2 at Athletic Bilbao before the international break and were on the end of a 5-0 battering in Barcelona on Saturday, so a high-scoring affair could be on the cards in Scotland.

Over 2.5 goals has landed in four of Rangers’ five competitive home games this season – including both European ties – while all three of Real Betis’ away assignments have gone over 2.5, with a total of 14 goals being scored in this period.

Celtic are the only side to have beaten Rangers at Ibrox since November 2011 and they have won three of their five home games this term. They can clinch a third 2-1 home win of the season against a visiting side missing Nabil Fekir, Youssouf Sabaly, Rui Silva and William Carvalho.
