RB Leipzig -1

Reason for tip

Leipzig, who have won three of their four home league games this season and covered a -1 handicap in the last two, have responded to previous Champions League defeats with strong performances. They are fancied to win this clash with weak away performers Gladbach with a bit to spare – as they have done in each of the past three seasons.

RB Leipzig 3-1

Reason for tip

Monchengladbach have lost two of their last three away Bundesliga games and conceded multiple goals in both losses. They have scored in three of their four road fixtures and are unlikely to get more than one at Red Bull Arena, where the hosts have kept three out of four clean sheets this term.  The Red Bulls are capable of repeating the 3-1 scoreline they achieved at home to Freiburg, who are currently higher than Gladbach in the table.

RB Leipzig vs Borussia Monchengladbach Predictions

  • Leipzig have responded to previous Champions League defeats with strong performances
  • Monchengladbach have lost two of their last three away Bundesliga games

Leipzig set to focus on Bundesliga

RB Leipzig should bounce back from their latest Champions League defeat with a performance good enough to beat visiting Borussia Monchengladbach by more than one goal.  The Red Bulls lost a fourth straight European game on Tuesday when they were beaten 3-1 by Celtic in Glasgow.

Marco Rose’s side have very little chance of making an impression in that competition now, although they remain in the Bundesliga title hunt after just over a quarter of the campaign.

Defeat at Dortmund last weekend has left them three points behind Bayern Munich, but all their fixtures until a pre-Christmas clash with Vincent Kompaby’s side look winnable.

Red Bulls can bounce back from European setback

Leipzig, who responded to each of their previous Champions League defeats this term with strong performances, beat Gladbach home and away last season and are rightly favoured to secure the three points at Red Bull Arena.

Their home form is strong while the visitors, who have collected nine of their 13 Bundesliga points at home, have lost two of their last three on the road.

Backing Leipzig to win by two clear goals takes the bet into odds-against territory. They have done it in each of their last three home games with Gladbach, who also suffered a similar fate on their one testing away trip so far this term at Stuttgart.
