Tip Reasoning

  • Real Betis have won four of their last five La Liga matches (L1).
  • Los Verdiblancos have lost just one of their last ten games in all competitions, winning seven.
  • Valencia are without a win in their last six league outings, losing three.
  • Los Che have won just one of their last 15 away games in La Liga, losing nine.

Betis becoming a serious force

Real Betis moved up to fifth in La Liga with their pulsating 3-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano at Benito Villamarin on Sunday and Manual Pellegrini’s side should be supported to bag a fifth league win in six when they take on poor travellers Valencia at home on Wednesday.

Betis were far from perfect here against Los Franjirrojos at the weekend and needed a Willian Jose penalty 15 minutes from time to secure the points after surrendering a two goal lead.

But it was still a tremendously energetic display from Los Verdiblancos, who showed no ill physical effects from their tough 1-1 UEFA Europa League draw against Bayer Leverkusen just three days prior.

Sixth last season, Betis appear to have improved further this term and they’re now finally achieving consistency to match their entertaining and attractive brand of football. They’ve won four of their last five in La Liga going into this midweek fixture against Los Che, while they’ve also lost just one of their last ten across all competitions, winning seven.

Los Che’s prospects low despite likelihood of a goal

Valencia were on the right end of a comeback on Saturday as they struck twice in stoppage time to dramatically deny Mallorca all three points at Mestalla, though the temporary euphoria from that late effort shouldn’t disguise how poor Los Che have been overall in recent weeks.

After a positive start to the season under new manager Pepe Bordalas, Valencia are now without a win in their last six league starts, losing three.

They travel to Benito Villamarin having won just one of their last 15 away trips in La Liga, and nine defeats in that spell undoubtedly marks Los Che as one of the worst travelling sides in Spain.

We can only see the points going one way in Andalusia this week with Betis in red hot form, though we’re keen to back a home win and both teams to score with Valencia netting in all but one of their ten league games this term, while Betis have managed just two clean sheets.

Betis’ potent attack is capable of putting daylight between the sides come the final whistle and we’re expecting Los Verdiblancos to triumph by a couple of goals. On that basis, we’re also putting forward a 3-1 prediction for correct score backers.
