Can Sociedad end horrific run?

It has been a far from idea start to the season for Real Sociedad, who enter this round of fixtures sitting only three points above the La Liga relegation zone.

The White and Blues have been in particularly poor form at home, where they have lost three of the four matches, including defeats to Alaves and and Rayo Vallecano.

On top of that, Imanol Alguacil’s side lost 2-1 to Anderlecht in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday, already their fifth reversal across all competitions this campaign.

Atleti attempting to bounce back

That is good news for Atletico Madrid, who suffered a sensational defeat themselves when on continental duty in midweek, going down 4-0 against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League.

Other than that though, it has been a pretty good couple of months for Diego Simeone’s side, who are yet to lose in La Liga, picking up four wins and four draws.

A couple of those successes have come on the road, against Celta Vigo and Athletic Bilbao, while they have picked up five victories from the last seven attempts in away games in the top flight.
