Cadiz unlikely to spring another shock

Cadiz have endured a miserable season but they gave themselves a glimmer of hope in the fight for La Liga survival with a stunning 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid last week.

That result leaves them just two points adrift of safety but it is hard to be too bullish about them winning back-to-back matches for the first time this season.

Their away form has been dreadful and they are winless in 14 league fixtures on the road this season, and they have never won at the Anoeta Stadium in five attempts.

A ray of hope for Cadiz  is the slump in form of their hosts Real Sociedad, who lost just four of their opening 35 matches in all competitions this season.

The wheels came off for La Real in February and they have lost five of their eight games.

Their Champions League adventure was ended by Paris St-Germain in that time and they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last eight outings.

However, we predict that they will  still be too strong on home soil for Cadiz, and after steadying the ship with a 3-2 win over Granada last week, the prediction is for a cagey home win on Friday.

Floodgates unlikely to open at Anoeta

This has been a notoriously tight fixture down the years, with six of the last seven meetings seeing one or both teams fail to get on the scoresheet.

The last three meetings have yielded a total of one goal, so a solitary strike may be enough to settle this contest.

Sociedad have kept a clean sheet in their last five meetings with Cadiz, so getting their noses in front at the Anoeta could see them ease to all three points.
