Real Sociedad vs Real Betis Predictions

Sociedad tough to beat at home

Real Sociedad, who won the Copa del Rey in 2018/19, are on a good run of form at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta, where they have only suffered two defeats this season, to Real Madrid and Villarreal.

They have scored in over 66% of their home matches, although games there have been particularly dull, with just 13 strikes across their 13 league fixtures.

That means they have kept plenty of clean sheets, but Imanol Alguacil’s side have proved fallible against the very best teams in La Liga, while the reverse fixture between these two sides in the league ended in a 4-0 defeat.

Betis put strong away record to the test

One of the reasons this game is so tough to call is that although Sociedad are excellent at home, Real Betis are just as good, if not better, on the road.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have netted in nine success away fixtures, with both teams scoring in five of their last six on their travels.

In away ties with teams in the top half of La Liga, they have kept just one clean sheet, at Barcelona, while nine of the last ten meetings between these two sides in San Sebastien have seen both teams score.

I predict a repeat in this one, but I find it incredibly tough to separate them and think extra-time could be on the cards as I select 1-1 as a correct  score prediction.
