      Real Sociedad vs Valencia Predictions

Valencia haven’t won for 2 months in the league since their stunning 5-1 victory at Celta Vigo. They have drawn 3 of their 4 league matches since Gary Neville took charge including their 2-2 draw with Real Madrid last weekend but badly need a win with 13 points currently separating them from the top four and Champions League qualification via the league looking an increasingly distant possibility.

They did put in their best performance under the Englishman in midweek though, crushing Granada 4-0 at the Mestalla in the Copa del Rey and in doing so virtually killing off the tie ahead of next week’s 2nd leg. Alvaro Negredo scored a hat-trick in the game and will be pushing for only a 7th league start of the season in San Sebastian.

Real Sociedad are in a spot of bother, averaging under a point per game from their first 18 fixtures and they are only 2 points outside of the relegation zone. They haven’t won any of their last 5 matches and with some big players including Esteban Granero, Sergio Canales and most significantly Imanol Agirretxe, who has scored over half of their league goals this term, out injured these are worrying times for the Basque club.

Given all that, they look really short at 5/4 to win at home for only the 3rd time in over 8 months. Therefore the value surely lies with Valencia here and you can back them to avoid defeat at 4/6.

They might even go better than that and will take confidence from their convincing cup win and draw with Los Blancos into this game. They are still not entirely convincing at the back but are improving going forward and could have enough about them to secure the win here and you can back them to pick up a 2-1 victory at 11/1.
