Zaragoza’s final third woes

They may be six time Copa del Rey winners, but Real Zaragoza have very much fallen on harder times since their glory days and head into this clash having lost three of their last four matches to nil.

Juan Ignacio Martínez’s side sit in sixteenth place in the Segunda table and they have won just three home games all season in all competitions.

They have failed to score in six of their matches at La Romareda, and given Sevilla’s strength at both ends of the field, this may be another game where they are left firing blanks.

Sevilla winning regularly

Sevilla have flexed their defensive and attacking muscles in recent weeks, keeping an impressive nine clean sheets in their last seventeen games, while registering six wins in twelve, plus a further two victories in extra time.

Julen Lopetegui’s side, who have won the Copa del Rey five times, have lost just twice in their last ten outings on the road and have impressively scored in all bar four of their away games this year.

As ever with cup matches, a lot depends on the strength of team Sevilla decide to field, but the La Liga side are a superior outfit and I would expect them to win this fixture.

I predict that Sevilla will win and keep a clean sheet in the process, selecting 2-0 as a correct score.
