Pilgrims’ price too short for cup clash

League One promotion-chasers Plymouth are looking to stop a run of three straight defeats when they travel to Rochdale to face League Two opposition in the FA Cup second round this Sunday.

The Pilgrims have dropped from top to fourth as a result of losses to Charlton, Wycombe and Wigan – the most recent of which featuring some tell-tale signs of discontent behind the scenes.

Manager Ryan Lowe took Luke Jephcott off a few minutes before half-time because the striker seemingly wouldn’t adhere to his instructions and, although Plymouth drew level immediately, they lost the game to a stoppage-time Wigan winner. Lowe will want to use this cup tie as a springboard to improved league form, but they look too short in the betting against a Rochdale side that hasn’t tasted defeat in their last six.

Stockdale’s side never know they’re beaten

Robbie Stockdale’s side have had some mixed results this season, but are never really out of games. They have drawn six times at home already this season and have never won or lost by more than a goal in the league at Crown Oil Arena.

That kind of trait should keep this game close and we feel both teams to score is a better option here than any of the three possible outcomes in the match betting.
