Roma to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Roma have won four of their last five home games and should have far too much for Genoa, who are 16 points worse off. Only one of the hosts’ 22 games under Gian Piero Gasperini have gone over 3.5 goals, though, so it is likely to be a low-scoring win for Roma.

      Roma 2-0

      Reason for tip

Roma have scored exactly two goals in three of their last five home games and should match that tally against Genoa. The visitors are showing some attacking intent under Daniele De Rossi but they have been blanked twice by Atalanta in the past few weeks and no side has conceded fewer Serie A goals than Roma’s ten.

      Roma vs Genoa Predictions

      • Roma have won four of their last five home games
      • Genoa have lost three of their last four matches
      • Just one of Roma’s 22 games in all competitions have gone over 3.5 goals

De Rossi’s return likely to be an unhappy one

While the other top European leagues take their winter break, the games continue to come thick and fast throughout December for those in Serie A, meaning there is a clash between Roma and Genoa to enjoy on Monday.

A glance at the table and the 16-point gap between the title-chasing Giallorossi and relegation-threatened Rossoblu tells a story of the gulf between the pair and anything other than a Roma win would represent a major shock.

New Genoa boss Daniele De Rossi has yet to really get a tune out of his side – Genoa have managed just two wins in seven games under his leadership – and while he would love to secure three points against the team he played 459 Serie A games for, that looks an unlikely outcome.

Capital clash could be a tight affair

Roma were beaten 2-1 last time but that came at title rivals Juventus, with this visit from a side who have lost three of their last four representing a much easier task, especially back at the Stadio Olimpico.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have won four of their last five home matches and should have enough to secure another three points on Monday.

Strangely, despite the free-scoring nature of Gasperini’s Atalanta, over 3.5 goals has been a winning bet in just one of his 22 games as Roma boss. Take the under alongside a Giallorossi win to land an odds-against price.
