Roma 3-0

Reason for tip

Roma average 2.5 goals per game in their last 10 at Stadio Olimpico in Serie A. They go up against a Sassuolo side that has failed to score in five of their last six away games and shipped an average of  2.5 goals in their last seven.

Sardar Azmoun To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Sardar Azmoun has scored or assisted in his last two Serie A appearances and was denied a wonder goal at Brighton by a debatable call. The Iran international is set to step into the shoes of Romelu Lukaku this weekend.

De Rossi can reap the rewards of rest policy

Roma should return to winning ways when they host Sassuolo on Sunday after Daniele De Rossi sensibly rested some of his stars from Thursday’s Europa League clash at Brighton.

The likes of Paulo Dybala, Leandro Parades and Angelino were all granted a night off as they watched the entire 90 minutes of Roma’s 1-0 defeat from the bench while Romelu Lukaku didn’t travel to England.

Lukaku is unlikely to feature in this clash due to a fitness issue, but his replacement Sardar Azmoun did enough in midweek to suggest he can do more than just fill in against Sassuolo.

Neroverdi look too green to survive

I Neroverdi will not travel to the capital with much optimism after losing six straight Serie A away games and failing to score in five. Davide Ballardini’s side look destined to make the drop back down to the second flight unless they can find a way to stem the tide of goals against them.

Only Frosinone have conceded more times than Sassuolo since Christmas while their paltry total of nine goals from the last 12 games is also the second-worst in Serie A over that spell. Roma should run riot to an extent with a few goals in a fairly comfortable win, albeit the prospects of Sassuolo scoring should not be totally discounted.

Roma have conceded six goals in their last two home games against Inter and Torino, but the fact that they have hit two or more in seven of their last nine should mean that a win with at least three strikes is a strong possibility.
