Romania U23 vs New Zealand U23 Predictions

New Zealand well placed to continue Olympics journey

New Zealand have been one of the surprise packages at the 2020 Olympics and they can continue their adventure in Japan by beating what looks a poor Romania outfit on Wednesday.

Group B is wide open with all four teams on three points after two rounds of fixtures.  The Olywhites kicked off the tournament with a 1-0 win over South Korea but then twice allowed a lead to slip away as they were beaten 3-2 by Honduras.

Romania picked up a 1-0 win against the Hondurans in their opener but that was incredibly fortunate as they failed to register a shot on goal, with their winner coming courtesy of an own goal.  The European side were then well beaten 4-0 by South Korea, and we’re expecting their tournament to come to an end on Wednesday.

New Zealand are the underdogs and at that price are worth taking on to win this game outright, even though a draw may well be enough to secure a place in the next round.  As Romania’s only goal at the tournament has been an own goal a 2-0 win for the Kiwis has some appeal in the correct score market.
