Ross County vs Motherwell Predictions
Ross County have endured a really difficult spell of form in the second half of the Scottish Premiership season, and a few very poor defeats have marred the season even more despite their good start to the campaign.
They come into this match having won just one of their last seven outings in the top flight, including a 3-0 loss to Inverness CT at home and a 5-2 thrashing from Dundee FC. Since the league split they have drawn impressively at Celtic and Hearts but lost at home to St Johnstone.
This puts them in 6th position in the Scottish Premiership. The seven point gap between them and 4th placed St. Johnstone is too big a gap to make up before the end of the season, but they can leapfrog Motherwell with a win over them on Wednesday.
Motherwell need two away victories to stand a chance of catching St. Johnstone this season, and Sunday has them visiting Celtic Park. Not a great place to go when you need a victory.
The visitors aren’t in good form at the moment either. They have lost three of their last four matches in the Scottish Premiership, with a 2-1 loss to Celtic abruptly ending the five match winning streak that saw them end the pre-split season so strongly.
Away from home they have managed to win three of their last five, with losses against St Johnstone and, most recently, Aberdeen marring their record. Ross County, on the other hand, have lost four of their last five home games which includes three defeats against teams in the bottom half of the table.
I fancy Motherwell to get the three points here due to Ross County’s shocking recent home record. Odds of 6/5 for a Motherwell Draw No Bet look very good value as well, so I’m going for that along with a 2-1 correct score prediction at 10/1.
