Sao Paulo 2-0

Sao Paulo vs Fluminense Predictions

  • Sao Paulo have won five of their six home league games this season
  • Fluminense are winless in six away games in all competitions
  • Fluminense have won on only one of their last eight visits to Sao Paulo

Home advantage should prove key

Fluminense have made the better start to proceedings in Brazil’s Serie A, taking 21 points from their first 12 assignments, but Sao Paulo are strong at home and may have their measure.

The hosts have lost three of their last four league games but they are only three points behind fifth-placed Fluminense and on their own patch they are a force to be reckoned with.

Sao Paulo have picked up 15 of their 18-point haul at the Estadio do Morumbi, winning five of their six home fixtures which includes accounting for Internacional.

Fourth-placed Palmeiras are the only team to have been successful in Sao Paulo this season but Fluminense, who have already lost on away trips to Fortaleza, Botafogo and Corinthians this term, may be unable to repeat the feat.,

Fluminense’s road woes may come to light

Fernando Diniz’s visitors are winless in six away games in all competitions, firing blanks on five occasions, and they have won on just one of their last eight trips to Sao Paulo, too.

Four of the last six meetings between this pair at this venue have finished level, which has also been the outcome in three of Fluminense’s last four matches, so backing the hosts on the draw-no-bet market is what appeals most.

It could be a cagey affair, though, and correct-score punters should opt for a 2-0 home win given Fluminense have lost three of their last four away games by that scoreline.
