Can Saudi Arabia pick up a rare win?

Saudi Arabia have been struggling of late, failing to score in three successive matches in suffering defeats to Colombia and Venezuela, both 1-0, as well as drawing 0-0 with Ecuador.

Hervé Renard’s side have in fact picked up just two wins in their last ten outings, and although one came against Australia, the other was a narrow 1-0 success over lowly ranked Oman.

Goals are also clearly a problem for The Green, who have now failed to score in seven of their last 12 games, netting exactly once in the other five.

Will USA bounce back?

The United States on the other hand may have lost 2-0 in their most recent match, a friendly against Japan last week, but they have still won four of their last nine.

Gregg Berhalter’s side still have work to do ahead of the World Cup, but their non-competitive record is strong, winning eight of the last 11 and suffering just two defeats in the process.

And they are solid at the back too, keeping eight clean sheets in 13 fixtures, showing Saudi Arabia will have their work cut out in the final third.
