Schalke vs Bayern Munich Betting Tips

Schalke started their season well, and looked well on track to challenge for 2^nd or 3^rd in the opening couple of months.

By the time October began, Schalke had won eight of their ten matches in all competitions and lost just once.

A shock 3-0 defeat to Cologne seems to have changed all that though. They have now won only one game in their last eight outings, with four of those games ending in defeat.

Their 3-2 defeat to Borussia Dortmund before the international break was their 6^th game on the trot without tasting victory, and it has seen them drop to 5^th position in the Bundesliga with 20 points from their opening 12 games. This is nine points adrift of Borussia Dortmund in 2^nd place, and 14 points behind Bayern Munich.

It’s not really any surprise that Bayern Munich are leading the charge in the Bundesliga. They strolled to the title last season and have so far only dropped two points this season.

A goalless draw at Eintracht Frankfurt halted their perfect start to the domestic season, and it came just ten days after a shock 2-0 loss to Arsenal in the Champions League.

But Bayern Munich haven’t allowed these two poor results turn into anything serious. They beat Arsenal 5-1 at the Allianz Arena a few days after their draw in Frankfurt, and they hammered Stuttgart 4-0 last time out.

This was the 10^th time that Bayern Munich have scored three or more goals in their last 13 matches, and 15 of their 18 competitive matches this season have ended with three or more goals in total.

Seven of their last 11 games have seen four or more goals, and they come up against a Schalke side who have conceded ten goals in their last five games whilst scoring five at the other end.

This all points towards a high scoring match, and I’m expecting Bayern Munich to take the victory as well. Odds of 13/10 for Bayern Munich to Win and Over 3.5 Goals look very good value, so that’s what I’m backing. I’m also going for a 3-1 correct score prediction at 9/1.
