Schalke vs Sparta Prague Betting Tips

Schalke are enjoying a spell of excellent form at the moment, with only a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Cologne marring their string of positive results since August.

They have won seven of their eight matches since a 3-0 defeat to Wolfsburg back at the end of August.

All but two of these wins have seen them keep a clean sheet, and it’s a record that has lifted them to within a point of 2^nd placed Borussia Dortmund.

They are already four points clear of 4^th placed Wolfsburg, and if they can continue this excellent form they could find themselves in with an outside chance of challenging for the Bundesliga title.

Schalke have had an excellent start to their Europa League campaign as well, with a 3-0 win at APOEL being followed by a 4-0 home victory over Asteras Tripolis.

This sees them lead Group K of the Europa League, with Thursday’s opponents Sparta Prague occupying 2^nd place with four points from their opening two games.

Sparta Prague opened their Europa League campaign with a draw away to Asteris Tripolis before picking up a 2-0 victory against APOEL back at the start of October.

The visitors have won five of their six matches since that draw in the Europa League curtain raiser, with Slavia Prague being the only team to beat them.

This leaves them at the top of the Czech Liga after ten games of the domestic season, with them and Viktoria Plzen tied on 23 points.

I think they will find it difficult when they pay a visit to Schalke though. The Bundesliga side have a high quality side and when combined with their excellent form and home advantage I think they can get a fairly comfortable victory on Thursday. Odds of 4/6 for a Schalke win look really good value as well, so that’s what I’m backing.
