A 1-0 win over fellow strugglers Walsall a few weeks ago seemed to breath new life into Scunthorpe’s battle against relegation, but that has been followed by back-to-back defeats to Swindon and Rochdale.

Northampton to enhance automatic promotion prospects

A win in this game would lift Northampton up into second place in League Two, that thanks to a run of three wins in four, keeping a clean sheet in each game.

The Cobblers have been strong on the road this season, winning on six occasions, while their 15 league fixtures away from Sixfields are averaging a shade over two goals per game.

They have kept three successive clean sheets on their travels and lost just once in the last seven, that coming against promotion rivals Swindon.

I expect Northampton to win this one, but do not envisage too much goalmouth action. I predict the Cobblers will win with fewer than three goals in the game, selecting 2-0 as a correct score prediction.
