Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

England put in a poor showing at home to Andorra, and another low-scoring affair is likely against the toughest test of Serbia. Under 2.5 goals has landed in each of Serbia’s last seven matches, while England have seen fewer than three goals in three of their last four competitive matches.

England 1-0

Reason for tip

England may have been poor against Andorra, but they have won each of their last six competitive games without conceding and should do so again when they face a Serbia side that have only scored eight goals across their last seven matches.

Serbia vs England Predictions

  • Under 2.5 goals has landed in six of Serbia’s last seven matches.
  • England have won all six competitive games without conceding under Thomas Tuchel.

Belgrade to host low-scoring affair

England put in another lacklustre performance as they beat minnows Andorra at Villa Park on Saturday, and travelling fans could be in for a similarly low-scoring affair when they visit Serbia on Tuesday.

Thomas Tuchel’s side managed just 11 shots against the 174th-best nation in the world, and while the German will point out that the Three Lions are yet to concede a goal in World Cup qualifying, the swathe of empty seats at the final whistle illustrated supporters’ dismay at the poor showing.

Serbia will present a tougher test to England, with Tuesday’s hosts unbeaten in seven and conceding just two goals in that period.

Six of these games have featured fewer than three goals, while the Three Lions have played out three low-scoring games in their last five.

The Orlovi will represent the toughest test of Tuchel’s England so far, and backing under 2.5 goals appears to be the way to go in Belgrade.

Despite this, England should still secure the points to extend their perfect record in qualifying. They have won each of their last six competitive games without conceding, while Serbia have only scored eight goals across their seven-game unbeaten run, opening the door for a 1-0 win for the visitors.
