Tip Reasoning

  • Serbia have scored 11 goals across their last four home games.
  • Slovenia failed to win five of their last six internationals.
  • Slovenia failed to win four of their six overall Nations League away games.

Serbia seek a bounce back to form

While Serbia dominated for large parts of their Nations League opener against Norway last time out with the lion’s share of possession, shots and efforts on goal, the difference proved to be one strike from the talismanic Erling Haaland.

However, there were positives to take from that defeat, as a similarly dominant performance in this clash will yield goals. It is goals that Serbia crave after back-to-back defeats to nil, though led by the record Championship goal scorer Aleksandar Mitrovic, the hosts are always in with a chance.

Unbeaten in seven of their last eight home games (W5, D2) and averaging 3.8 goals scored per-win during that sequence, Serbia will hope to rediscover that form as they welcome an out of sorts Slovenia side.

Sorry Slovenia could be sent packing

The visitors were given a harsh reality check in their Nations League B debut last time out as they lost 2-0 to Sweden following their promotion in the last campaign.

It doesn’t get any easier as they now must travel to Serbia, a side they have never scored more than a single goal against (D1, L1). Compounding matters for Slovenia is their woeful travelling record, which has seen them come up trumps in just one of their last nine away trips.

We predict that Serbia should win this game for the main selection, while we are going with a small stakes play on a 2-0 home win.
