      Sevilla vs Borussia Monchengladbach Predictions

After winning the Europa League for the second season in a row and the fourth time in ten years last season, Sevilla once again find themselves in the Champions League group stages.

They haven’t had much luck in this competition in recent years, but they will be hoping to turn their fortunes around against Borussia Monchengladbach.

But neither team comes into this game in any sort of good form. Sevilla have only picked up two points from their opening three La Liga fixtures, and if you include friendly matches they haven’t won in seven games.

Borussia Monchengladbach managed to win a friendly game against Sion during the international break, but they couldn’t build on this in the Bundesliga and ended up losing 3-0 at home to Hamburger on Friday.

This leaves them at the bottom of the German league after losing all of their opening four matches. Only them and Stuttgart are still on zero points.

This is a far cry from the team that managed to come 3rd in last season’s Bundesliga, and if they don’t turn it around soon then they will have lost all chance of retaining their place in Europe for next season.

They seem to have problems at both ends of the pitch. They have only managed to score twice in their four Bundesliga games so far, and conceded 11 at the other end. Considering they only conceded 26 times in the whole of last season, they really need to do some work on the training pitch.

Both teams have started the season poorly, but Monchengladbach’s start has been truly terrible. I think Sevilla will get the victory here and possibly kickstart their season, and odds of 6/4 for a Sevilla -1 Handicap Win look good to me. With Monchengladbach’s shocking defence and Sevilla’s talented attack, a 3-0 win for the home side looks good as well at 10/1.
