Sevilla vs Espanyol Predictions
The Andalucian side are up to 8th now and are one of a number of sides with hopes of securing 4th spot in the league and with it Champions League football next season. They are in good form too having gone 7 matches without a defeat in all competitions and they’ve won all of their last 5 matches at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Therefore this is going to be a big ask for Espanyol who are having a mixed season. They are safely in mid-table and have only lost one of their last five matches and come into this game on the back of wins against Levante in the Copa del Rey and Las Palmas last time out in La Liga.
They’ve lost all of their last 4 away games in La Liga though and it’s hard to see them avoiding a 5th straight road defeat here. Sevilla haven’t conceded in any of their last 4 matches and their last 4 home games have all resulted in wins to nil. Therefore at 7/5 there is certainly value in backing a repeat of that in this game.
Both sides will be missing midfield players through suspension with Gregorz Krychowiak out for Sevilla and Papa Kouly Diop missing for Espanyol. Unai Emery’s men are starting to gel as a side though after a poor start to the campaign following a few major comings and goings in the off-season.
They’ll have been grateful for the 10 day break following a busy campaign in Europe and at home and they look good at 13/2 to secure a 2-0 victory for the 3rd successive time at home.
