Sheffield Wednesday vs Arsenal Betting Tips

Sheffield Wednesday are one of the in form sides of the Championship at the moment. They are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions, and only their poor start to the season is holding them back in the table.

They sit in 9^th position in the table with 20 points from their opening 13 league games, but their recent form has been far superior to that total.

They have already eliminated Premier League opposition in this competition this season when they beat Newcastle United in the 3^rd Round, but Arsenal will be an entirely different prospect to the struggling Tyneside team.

But Sheffield Wednesday aren’t the only team in good form. Arsenal have won their last four matches in all competitions. This includes wins against top quality sides such as Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

They have only conceded one goal during this period, with ten goals being scored at the other end.

But Arsenal are known to field a host of youth talent throughout the Capital One Cup, so they could well have a completely different team on the pitch.

Arsene Wenger did change that philosophy in the 3^rd Round of the cup though when he selected eight regular first team started for their North London derby against Spurs.

I would expect Arsenal to be made up of more youngsters this time round though, but having said that they do have a knack of reaching the latter stages of the competition with their fierce determination to break through into the first team spurring on their performances.

The odds for an Arsenal win don’t look valuable at all though, so we’ll avoid that punt at 2/5.

Instead I’m looking at a Both Teams to Score bet. With Arsenal likely to field an inexperienced back line and Sheffield Wednesday looking good up front at the moment I think the odds of 5/6 on offer are very good value. I’m also backing a 2-1 Arsenal win at 8/1.
