Sheffield Wednesday vs Charlton Betting Tips & Predictions

This is an interesting game and there will surely be a few nerves around Hillsborough following some sloppy recent performances from the Owls. They’d gone 5 matches without a win, which had included a shock home defeat to Rotherham, prior to their convincing and much-needed 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest last time out. That has established themselves in 6th place but the likes of Cardiff and Ipswich are breathing down their necks and there is plenty of work to be done to secure a play-off place.

The Owls will certainly be targeting a win here although this game suddenly looks a little tougher following some improved recent displays from Charlton. The Addicks have taken 7 points from their last 3 matches with impressive wins at Brentford and last time out at home to Middlesbrough giving their battle to beat the drop a hint of light. They are still 5 points off safety but they were in serious danger of getting cut adrift prior to those recent games and another win here would really give them a chance.

Draws aren’t going to get Charlton out of trouble so they might have a bit of a go here and see if they can do what Rotherham did a fortnight ago and claim a priceless 3 points. The problem for the Addicks is they have the worst defensive record in the league and are up against the side with the 2nd best goalscoring record and one that rediscovered their goal touch last weekend. Therefore Wednesday might just have too much for them here and backing Sheffield Wednesday to win 3-1 at 11/1 might be the way to go.
