Sheffield Wednesday vs Hull Predictions
Wednesday have looked like one of the most improved sides in the league and racked up 4 wins on the spin in all competitions prior to the international break. Only Middlesbrough have won at Hillsborough so far this season and they’ve managed to combine improved results with a more attacking brand of football.
Both teams have scored in 8 of their 10 Championship matches so far this season and as one of the promotion favourites, 5th placed Hull aren’t likely to come here with a defensive strategy and that should help lead to a relatively open game.
The Tigers haven’t scored an abundance of goals but although they have the worst goalscoring record in the top six, they have scored at least once in all but 1 of their 13 games in all competitions this season and they have one of the league’s form strikers in the shape of Uruguayan Abel Hernandez.
Wednesday have won their last two home games by 3-2 and 3-1 scorelines against Fulham and Preston and clearly there is plenty of reason to think both teams will score in this game too and it can be backed at odds of 5/6.
Both teams are unbeaten in their last 5 matches so aren’t in the habit of losing games and Hull will certainly provide the home side with a sterner test than some of their other recent visitors. They seem to have got over their troubles on the road in recent weeks with excellent wins at Cardiff and Nottingham Forest coming on their last two trips away from the KC Stadium.
Trips to play Sheffield Wednesday are no easy task these days though and the brand of football they are playing and success they are having could see a really big crowd turn up for this one, which can make a difference. This game is tough to call with both teams playing well so consider backing a 1-1 draw and a continuation of the unbeaten runs of both.
