Shrewsbury vs Cheltenham Predictions
- Both teams have scored in four of Cheltenham’s last six games
- Both teams have scored in six of Shrewsbury’s last eight home fixtures
- The Shrews are unbeaten in five matches at the New Meadow
Shrewsbury set for much needed boost?
Shrewsbury come into this fixture on the back of successive defeats, but their home form has been pretty solid of late, and I think this could be the game they need to bounce back to winning ways.
Steve Cotterill’s side have beaten Charlton, Cambridge and MK Dons at the New Meadow in recent weeks, but they do have defensive concerns, having kept just two clean sheets in their 28 outings this season.
Both teams have in fact scored in seven of their last ten matches, showing they know where the back of the net is, and I believe there could be a repeat here.
Robins not so reliant
Cheltenham are without a win in four matches and have conceded a whopping 13 goals across those outings, highlighting the defensive issues faced by Michael Duff at the moment.
They have in fact kept just three clean sheets in their last ten games, and other than a run of three successive victories in November, they are without a win since mid-October.
Both teams have scored in five of their last six clashes on the road, and in seven of their last ten at all venues, including when the Robins beat Shrewsbury 2-1 at Whaddon Road last month.
I think both teams will score again in this one as neither side has a particularly strong defence, but predict Shrewsbury will get a much needed win courtesy of a 2-1 correct score.
