Shrewsbury vs Manchester United Predictions
Shrewsbury Town are really struggling in League One at the moment. Their 33 point tally from the opening 31 games leaves them just two positions and three points above the relegation zone. But, unlike Premier League teams, the lower league sides always get hyped up for the FA Cup, seeing it as it should be rather than as a distraction like many of the relegation threatened top flight sides. The home side aren’t in bad form at the moment, but their inability to build up any momentum is proving a big problem for them.
Manchester United know just how that feels. Just when you think they are returning to their old ways they slump back into horrendously dull performances. Their most recent disappointment came away to Midtjylland in the Europa League, with that coming a few days after relegation threatened Sunderland also got a 2-1 win over them. Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Stoke at the beginning of the month already feels a long time ago.
Reasons for Betting Tips
Manchester United will be hurt by their midweek Europa League defeat and their Premier League loss last weekend, and with a few youngsters set to be employed on Monday they will be eager to impress. An FA Cup win for Manchester United would save their season from the failure it looks destined for, and they managed to put in a good performance away to Derby County in the last round.
The visitors have shown that they do have the capability to play attractive, attacking football, but they just haven’t done it often enough. I’m expecting them to turn on the style on Monday and find a way through the poor Shrewsbury defence on a number of occasions. The League One side will put up a fight, but ultimately I don’t think their form suggests that they have the quality to get anything from this game.

Statistics
55% of Shrewsbury Towns matches this season have seen Over 2.5 Goals scored thanks to their above average conceding rate of 1.65 goals shipped per game. This is against League One opposition, so I think they’ll struggle against Premier League attacking threats.
Team News
Shrewsbury – Midfielders James Wesolowski and James Wallace have both been ruled out with knee injuries for this clash.
Manchester United – The visitors are terribly injury hit at the moment, with defenders Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, and Matteo Darmian joining midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini, and Adnan Januzaj on the sidelines. The biggest misses will be David De Gea and Wayne Rooney though.
