Bodo Glimt Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Slavia Prague failed to win seven of their eight Group Stage matches in the Europa League last season, so they could struggle to compete in the UCL. Bodo/Glimt have lost only one of their last eight fixtures and they can upset the odds here.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Slavia Prague averaged just 0.875 goals across their eight UEL Group Phase games last season, while Bodo/Glimt notched exactly once in five of their last six away tests in Europe (UEL & UCL).

Slavia Prague vs Bodo Glimt Predictions

  • Slavia Prague managed to win only one of their eight group games in the Europa League last season.
  • Bodo/Glimt have lost only one of their last eight competitive fixtures.
  • Bodo/Glimt have conceded seven goals in their last eight away matches combined.

Bodo/Glimt to leave Czechia with at least a point

Slavia Prague have dropped only four points in eight matches at the start of the new campaign in Czechia, though they have routinely struggled to replicate their strong domestic form on the continent in recent seasons.

Indeed, Slavia performed poorly in the Europa League last term and exited the competition at the Group Phase, having delivered just a single win in eight fixtures, while scoring a paltry seven times along the way.

Despite that abject track record, Slavia will kick off Wednesday’s meeting with Bodo/Glimt as odds-on favourites to prevail, though the Norwegians are the more attractive prospect in the generously-priced double chance stakes.

With head coach Kjetil Knutsen’s tactical ingenuity key, Bodo/Glimt were surprise Europa League semi-finalists last term, taking the scalps of Porto, Braga, Besiktas, Olympiakos and Lazio along the way, and having largely kept their squad intact, they should be competitive in Europe again this year.

The current Norwegian league leaders can travel to Czechia in good form, having lost only once in eight games, while their thumping 7-1 win over Kristiansund last Friday was the perfect way to prepare for their first Champions League outing of the season.

Slavia’s European record makes them worth opposing here, so back Bodo/Glimt in the double chance market. The visitors, who hit exactly one goal in four of their last five away games in Europe, can be light on goals on the road however, so look to a 1-1 draw in the correct score stakes.
