South Africa U23 vs Mexico U23 Predictions
- Mexico overcame France 4-1 in their tournament opener.
- El Tricolor managed a goal against Japan after being reduced to 10-men.
- South Africa scored three in defeat to France.
Mexico should be too strong for plucky South Africa
Mexico announced themselves as potential gold medal contenders with a 4-1 demolition of France in their Olympics opener but a 2-1 defeat against Japan means they still have some work to do to reach the next round.
El Tricolor take on South Africa in the final round of group games on Wednesday, and anything other than a win for the Central Americans would have to be considered a shock.
South Africa were thrown into disarray just before their opener against Japan as two members of their squad tested positive for coronavirus. The Amaglug-glug can still take pride from their two performances so far after a narrow loss to Japan before a 4-3 defeat to Les Bleus, where they took the lead three times, but Mexico should have the quality to win this one fairly comfortably.
Mexico have conceded in both of their games and as South Africa put three past France there is a chance we could see goals at both ends, and with that in mind a 3-1 win for El Tri has a chance in the correct score market.
