Spain looking for back-to-back wins

A 1-0 win over Switzerland on Thursday night saw Spain finally get their first victory in this season’s Nations League, that following draws with Portugal and Czech Republic.

Luis Enrique’s side, runners-up in this competition to France last year, are formidable at home, where they are unbeaten in 18 games.

15 of those matches have ended in victory, with 10 of them by more than a one goal cushion, meaning they tend to put games to bed, with stand-out results including a 6-0 drubbing of Germany and 4-0 hammering of Ukraine.

Czech Republic keen to bounce back

Czech Republic started the Nations League with a win and a draw, but they lost their unbeaten record on Thursday night when suffering a 2-0 loss to Portugal.

That was a fourth defeat in seven away games for Jaroslav Šilhavý’s side, three of which have been by two goals or more.

Their big problem seems to be scoring on the road, as they have netted just three goals over those seven fixtures, failing to to net at all on five occasions.

I predict that Spain will win this game with a -1 handicap, selecting 3-0 to the hosts as a correct score prediction.
