Spain vs Scotland Predictions

  • Spain scored 13 times in their games last month
  • Scotland have scored in 10 of their last 11 matches
  • McTominay has scored six goals in five Euro 2024 qualifiers

Scotland hope to punch Euros ticket

After winning each of their first five games in this qualifying campaign, Scotland are on the verge of booking their place at Euro 2024. They head to Seville this week knowing that a win would wrap up their spot, while a draw would all but guarantee them a place in Germany next summer.

The Scots produced a famous 2-0 win at Hampden in March and they’ve gone from strength to strength since, beating Norway, Georgia and Cyprus on their way to topping their pool. Confidence is high ahead of a week which sees them visit Spain and France, despite some eye-catching wins for Spain last month.

Back goals in Seville

Spain won 7-1 against Georgia and 6-0 against Cyprus in September, which came off the back of their UEFA Nations League success. The Spanish hope to rally and secure their Euro 2024 spot next month, but will their upturn in form continue against the Scots?

The visitors have scored in 10 of their last 11 games and they head into this having won their last five away qualifiers. Steve Clarke’s side also count on Man United’s weekend hero Scott McTominay, who has been excellent in this campaign. The midfielder has scored in four of their five games, finding the net six times.

McTominay can lead the way for a free-scoring Scottish side, so back him to find the net on Thursday. The hosts have really clicked going forward too, but defensive concerns remain. Considering that, both teams to score looks like great value here.
