Sparta Prague and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Sparta Prague have not lost any of their last 26 competitive home fixtures and could continue this stunning run of form against a Salzburg that could be lacking match sharpness having last played over two weeks ago.

Sparta Prague 2-1

Reason for tip

Sparta Prague have scored at least two goals in five of their six home matches this season and they should be able to replicate this feat against a Salzburg side who tasted defeat for the first time this season last time out.

Sparta Prague vs Red Bull Salzburg Predictions

  • Sparta Prague have not lost any of their last 26 competitive fixtures
  • Salzburg have lost just one of their last seven away matches in all competitions
  • The Maroons won their last meeting with Salzburg 3-0 in 1997

Home advantage can help in-form hosts to victory

Czech side Sparta Prague have been in fantastic form in recent months and the Maroons can get their Champions League campaign off to a perfect start when they host Salzburg at the epet ARENA on Wednesday.

The Maroons have won 21 of their last 26 competitive matches – losing none – and the hosts have only lost one match in front of their own fans in 2024, coming in a 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in the Europa League back in March.

Salzburg started their season strongly with five wins from their opening six matches in all competitions however Pep Lijnders’ men did suffer defeat for the first time last time out – falling to a 3-2 loss to Rapid Wien at the beginning of the month.

The Austrians have not played a competitive fixture since the 1st of September and this relative rustiness could allow the Maroons to take full advantage in this encounter. Two of Sparta Prague’s three European home matches this season have seen both sides score and this theme could continue on Wednesday, with a 2-1 final score drawing some appeal.
