Sporting Kansas City vs Chicago Fire Predictions
Sporting Kansas City sit bottom of the Western conference, but they haven’t actually been all that bad. They only have 3 less points than Chicago Fire, who sit 9th in the Eastern Conference, and Chicago have played an extra game. KC have scored 2+ in 5 of their 9 home league games so far this season.
Sporting have certainly not been in the greatest form recently, with their most recent game being a 5-1 demolition at home by Los Angeles. They can be somewhat forgiven for this though, as Los Angeles are 6 points clear at the top of the Western Conference and having an incredible season. They also won just 1 of the 6 games previous to that, away at Columbus Crew, but 5 of those 6 games were away from home. They have won 3 and drawn 3 of their 9 home games this season.
Chicago Fire have won just 1 of their last 8 games in the MLS, that win coming in their most recent game, a 5-1 riot against Atlanta United at home. Before that though, they had lost 4 and drawn 3 of the previous 7.
Away from home, Chicago Fire are quite frankly appalling. They have not won a single game in their last 21 on the road, losing 15 and drawing 6. During that time, they have conceded 2+ in 17 of those games. They have conceded 2+ in all of their last 4 away, conceding 12 in that time!
Chicago Fire will almost certainly leak goals in this game, so Sporting Kansas City to score 2+ is certainly a good bet here. Sporting KC Win also looks a good bet, but Chicago have thrown a few curveballs this season with a 2-2 and 3-3 draw already away this season. We do see Kansas City winning this one for sure though, and we think the game will end 3-1.
