Nothing to separate draw specialists

St Etienne have proven hard to beat on home soil of late, losing just one of their last eight Ligue 1 matches at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, but they have also only won once during that time, drawing the other six.

Indeed, only Nantes have drawn more Ligue 1 games on their own patch this season than Claude Puel’s side.

Le Verts have also lost just one of their last six matches in Ligue 1, home or away, but the amount of those games that have ended all-square mean they are still looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone.

Lens may sit 10 places above St Etienne in the league standings heading into Wednesday’s game, but Franck Haise’s side have also been draw specialists of late, sharing the spoils on four of their last five league games.

That sequence includes back-to-back draws on the road against Reims and Angers, while Lens are unbeaten in their last five away fixtures in total.
