Neck and neck

Stenhousemuir and Albion are both in the midst of four-game unbeaten runs coming into this fixture with both claiming back-to-back league wins either side of their Scottish Cup tie victories.

Both clubs defeated Highland League opposition in the cup with Stenhousemuir comfortably despatching Huntly 4-1 while Albion needed a replay at home to see off Brora Rangers 1-0.

Stenhousemuir’s two league wins in recent weeks have ironically come away from home with the club yet to secure a victory on their own turf in the league this season.

Albion are currently 6th in the table, two places and one point above their hosts, after consecutive wins over Elgin and Edinburgh. A 4-0 win in the capital was their first away win of the season with Rovers so far struggling on their travels and losing four of their first five league games on the road.

Hosts to get it together

After an encouraging 1-1 draw at home to Forfar Athletic in their last home league game, I expect Stenhousemuir to kick on and take all three points here. However, with just two clean sheets in their last 11 games, it’s not going to be plain sailing so a 2-1 win for the hosts seems more viable.
