Stockport to Win

Reason for tip

Stockport have been a force at Edgeley Park, winning five of their last seven home League One matches. They’ve shown consistency and the ability to handle teams across the table, making them a solid choice to beat Mansfield, whose away performances have been patchy.

Stockport 2-1

Reason for tip

A narrow 2-1 win for Stockport seems likely. Mansfield have lost six League One matches by a single goal this season, highlighting their struggles in tight games. Stockport have beaten strong sides like Wrexham, Peterborough, and Bolton at home and can exploit Mansfield’s vulnerabilities.

Stockport vs Mansfield Town Predictions

Hatters set for more home success

Stockport have been in strong form at Edgeley Park, securing victories in five of their last seven home matches in League One, and they can be backed to get the better of Mansfield on Saturday.

Dave Challinor’s team have been particularly consistent on home soil and will look to capitalise on that advantage against a Mansfield side who have been less reliable on their travels.

The two teams are closely matched in the League One standings, separated by just four points. Stockport are currently seventh, while Mansfield sit ninth. Both have registered ten wins this season, but Stockport’s record also includes eight draws and six losses compared to Mansfield’s four draws and eight defeats.

Mansfield lost 2-1 to Reading in their last League One away fixture on Sunday, struggling to impose themselves with just 32.8 per cent possession.

However, they bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Bolton at home on Wednesday. Despite that result, Mansfield’s away form has been a concern, and Stockport’s superior home record makes them the better bet to come out on top in this clash.

Stockport drew 1-1 with Birmingham in their last home game and before that had beaten Wrexham, Exeter, Peterborough and Bolton.

A narrow 2-1 victory for Stockport looks like the best correct-score prediction. Mansfield have suffered six one-goal defeats in League One this season, highlighting their vulnerability in closely fought contests.
